SUMMARY:Fit-Triq Bla Biza' - Reclaim the Night
DESCRIPTION: Every year\, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women\, we come together to raise awareness on the violence which women experience in its many physical\, sexual and psychological forms. \n This violence encompasses street harassment\, cyber harassment\, psychological abuse\, unwanted sexual advances\, rape\, femicide\, human trafficking\, child marriage and female genital mutilation. Stopping this violence starts by (but doesn’t stop at) listening to and believing women. \n This year we are marching to Reclaim the Night (Fit-Triq bla Biża’). This is the first such march being held in Malta. We will be marching to show resistance and demand our right to move safely in public spaces\, no matter the time\, the place and what we are wearing. \n We will gather on Friday 2nd December at the LOVE Monument in St. Julian’s at 18.30\, and then march together along the front. As part of the event\, we will share stories about the personal experiences of women and the daily violence which we face. \n We are inviting you all to submit your stories here (https://bit.ly/3THdgcE). Submissions can be anonymous and you may also read out your own story on the day. DESCRIPTION: Il-Qorti tal-Appell ħassret il-ftehim sigriet li bih il-Miżieb u l-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa ngħataw mill-Gvern lill-FKNK. \nSer niċċelebraw din ir-rebħa\, u napprezzaw dawn l-ispazji li reġgħu lura għand il-poplu\, permezz ta’ mixja ġewwa l-Miżieb nhar is-Sibt 3 ta’ Diċembru fid-9.30. \n Nitilqu mir-Riserva tas-Simar ix-Xemxija. Wara mixja qasira ġol-Miżieb\, il-pubbliku jista’ jibqa’ għal piknik fuq il-post. \nL-awtoritajiet ippruvaw jisirqu miljun u nofs metru kwadru t’art tal-poplu sabiex jużawha ftit nies biss. \n Ma rnexxilhomx. \nDan għaliex l-għaqdiet iġġieldu sal-aħħar sabiex l-imsaġar tal-Miżieb u l-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa jibqgħu aċċessibbli għal kulħadd. \nAħna determinati li kulħadd jibqa’ jgawdi dawn l-ispazji miftuħa tant essenzjali għalina. \nNarawkom \n****** \n The Court of Appeal annulled the secret agreement by which the Miżieb and L-Aħrax areas were handed to the FKNK by the government. \nWe will celebrate this victory and appreciate the beauty of these places\, which have now been handed back to the public\, with a walk through Miżieb on Saturday\, December 3rd at 09:30. \n We will be leaving from the Simar nature reserve in Xemxija. After a short walk through Miżieb\, we encourage the public to stay and picnic. \nThe authorities tried to steal 1.5 million m2 of public land for the benefit of a select few. \n They failed. \nThis is because NGOs fought tooth and nail so that the woodlands of Miżieb and L-Aħrax remain accessible to all. \nWe are determined to make sure everyone can continue to enjoy these public spaces that are so important to society.

Il-protesta ser tibda mill-pjazza tal-knisja ta’ Birżebbuġa\, tgħaddi mill-promenade ta’ Wied il-Buni u tintemm quddiem il-klabb tal-boċċi. \n Ir-residenti ta’ Birżebbuġa u l-madwar\, flimkien mal-ħaddiema fiż-żona ta’ Ħal Far\, ilhom ‘il fuq minn xahrejn – jiġifieri minn meta bdiet topera l-fabbrika tat-tonn – iġarrbu inkonvejent kbir ta’ rwejjaħ qawwija li qed jgħarrqu l-kwalità tal-ħajja fil-lokalità. \n Dan mhuwiex aċċettabbli. SUMMARY:Press Conference - YES to Bill 28
DESCRIPTION:On Monday 19th December\, at some point in the afternoon\, a vote will be held in Parliament on the second reading of Bill 28 – a new law that will allow termination of dangerous pregnancies that put women’s lives or health at grave risk. It is essential that this vote passes so that Bill 28 continues on its way to become law. \nAt 3pm we will be giving a press conference in front of Parliament together with other NGOs of the Voice for Choice coalition. We will also remain in front of Parliament until the vote is taken\, to encourage MPs to vote in favour of this essential law that protects the lives and health of women. \nAlthough this is not a rally because the time of the vote is inconvenient to many people\, those who can make it to Valletta at that time can join us as we mark this important milestone in Malta’s women’s rights history.
