Join us for another screening leading up to International Women’s Day on the 8th of March.
‘Sisters’ is a 2023 documentary directed by Marianna Fumai. It explores the challenges that people in Malta, Italy, and Poland face when trying to access abortions. The documentary also highlights the solidarity shown by national and international groups, who work together to ensure self-determination and access to reproductive rights.
Marianna Fumai is an author, film editor, and director. She is also an educator, an intersectional feminist, and a reproductive rights activist. She visited Malta in 2019 to meet with abortion rights activists and to witness the first Safe Abortion Day Rally.
After the screening, the director will be online with us for some questions about the documentary. We will also have a broader discussion about the local struggle for reproductive justice.
Free entrance. Nibbles and drinks will be available.
Please note: the location has stairs.
