It-tibdil propost fil-Pjan Lokali għas-sit ta’ Villa Rosa se jkollu impat enormi fuq il-lokalitajiet ta’ Pembroke, is-Swieqi, u San Ġiljan.
Skont il-pjan rivedut propost, jistgħu jitilgħu binjiet li jaslu sa 39 sular, flimkien ma’ żewġ torrijiet addizzjonali ta’ 22 sular li se jidfnu għalkollox il-Bajja ta’ San Ġorġ u jordmu lir-residenti tal-madwar. L-impronta tal-iżvilupp se tikber għal madwar 146,500 metru kwadru – intensifikazzjoni estrema li se tħalli impatt serju fuq il-komunitajiet fil-qrib u l-infrastruttura pubblika.
Qed inħeġġu lir-residenti ta’ dawn il-lokalitajiet biex jattendu laqgħa pubblika fejn ser nispjegaw x’qed jiġri fil-kwistjoni ta’ Villa Rosa, x’ħa jkunu l-impatti tat-tibdil fil-Pjan Lokali, u x’nistgħu nagħmlu dwarhom.

What’s happening at Villa Rosa? Information meeting for residents
The proposed changes to the Local Plan for the Villa Rosa site will have a huge impact on the localities of Pembroke, Swieqi, and St Julian’s.
According to the revised plan, buildings of up to 39 storeys could rise, alongside two additional towers of 22 storeys, which would completely bury St George’s Bay and suffocate nearby residents. The development footprint would expand to around 146,500 square metres — an extreme intensification with a devastating impact on nearby communities and public infrastructure.
We are urging the residents of these localities to attend a public meeting where we will explain what is happening regarding Villa Rosa, what the impacts of the changes to the Local Plan will be, and what we can do about them.
